Christmas wedding vibes! The very last one of the year, featuring an epic snowstorm-esque confetti attack! I always tell my couples to buy plenty of confetti when they ask about confetti shots, and it’s always amazing when people take that advice super seriously!!

And now excuse me while I set an out of office reply up on my email, pour some wine and buckle down to some family time - no relaxing here as I haven’t wrapped a single present for the boys and we are moving house in January. Someone please tell me how to create more hours in a day?!
I’ve tried to get as much work done before Christmas as I can and now edits will have to wait until the New Year so sorry if yours is one that didn’t quite happen before the festivities.

Ok so I’ve got some news, that you probably aren

Ok so I’ve got some news, that you probably aren’t interested in but I’ll tell you anyway, we’re moving house! I haven’t believed it myself until very recently and I’m still expecting something or other to go wrong, don’t ask me why I just am ok? (Maybe a little bit of self protection?!)
It’s a beautiful house and I feel so very lucky but I’m going to have to lose my studio for a little while which I find so saddening but hopefully it won’t be long till a replacement is built 🤞🏻in the meantime there will be a minimalistic white space I can use in our house but it won’t be solely a studio area. My ‘studio style’ shots will therefore still be available and of course your own home sessions are still an option too if you’d prefer.
It looks like we will move in January so if you’re due after that I want to reassure you this shouldn’t affect you too much, I just wanted to keep you in the loop. I’m not moving far, only 5 mins down the road to #holme.

What a way to end a day that was already feeling pretty epic, we’ve been to #winterwonderland today with the boys, seen Santa, oggled at ice sculptures, eaten churros, oo-ed and ah-ed at @zipposcircus and taken in the views from the big wheel. Going to bed tired out from fun, the best sort of tired there is.

I have two things to say this evening.
One is that I blooming love an archway for a couple portrait. Who doesn’t love an archway?! This one at @sussexbarn_burnhammarket is fab.
And the second thing is that I’m going to bed before I consume anymore galaxy at 1am. Yes, yes I know sugar is the devil but I think that and caffeine are literally the only things keeping me from a meltdown right now until this editing to do list is shorter! It’s finally getting shorter though!! Alice and Sam’s wedding is on track to be live this weekend despite my cracking cold. Next on the wedding list is Lucy and Dan’s wonderful day. I can’t wait to get your images to you! And I can’t wait to relax, I’m allowed to admit that right?!

I’ve just dropped the boys at school which felt a bit shocking after the half term break from early starts. Both may have tracings of their skeleton face paint on from last night despite scrubbing their faces like mad…today I’m going to try to load up some USB’s with your photos to send out keepsake boxes (I’ll probably do the actual post run tomorrow), get a few previews done for you patient folk from the family sessions I’ve done and I’m carrying on with Natasha and Shane’s beautiful wedding day. Next up are Sammy and Lloyd and Laura and Kudzai.

I mean, this is just too cute right?!!
Hey, you! I’m back on Instagram after a little break. An unintended break but I’ve only been answering messages on here as I can’t keep up with editing right now.
I’m truly doing my best, but just not seeming catch up as I’d hoped to. This year was always set to be hard but I didn’t appreciate it would be this gruelling. I love my job, I love my clients and for that reason please forgive me for not being able to outsource my editing. I’m a control freak, I just can’t do it! I’m ploughing through and trying to keep my standards high. Thank you so much for being patient!
Because I’ve realised I’m not superwoman this year I’ll be capping my numbers at a lower point for next year for both family work and weddings. I will also not be doing two weddings in a weekend. I owe that to my couples and to my family, I want to give you all happy, smiley, unfrazelled Roxy. And also I want a day off occasionally, and not to feel like I can’t ever post anything personal for fear waiting wedding couples won’t shoot me…joking! Seriously though don’t shoot my otherwise I can’t edit…😂😱
I’m aware lots of wedding photographers feel this way, we were all desperate to accommodate our couples, desperate to make up for profits lost last year, fearful that if we take the foot off the peddle we will be closed again and unable to earn again.
Apologies for the overshare…I always want you to know the truth even if it feels vulnerable to share it…

How’s Monday then? Mine has been a little 😵‍💫 as I was flying solo getting all three boys up and two to school, we only lost one coat (in Nanny’s car 🙈 oops), chucked one spoon and forgot hair product in Austin’s hair. Other than that it’s not a bad effort for a Monday 😅
Posting a serene baby photo to remind us all to stop and study your children like they are a newborn again. Marvel at them because all too soon they will be marvellously big!

Cosy autumnal night shot! I love it when venues have festoon lights. If your venue hasn’t got any consider setting up your own for the evening! They really do transform an image.
Other evening ideas could be sparklers, confetti canons for your dance floor, grabbing a round of shots for your bridal squad, taking a moonlit walk, cuddling and watching fireworks or opening a bottle of bubbly and spraying it about F1 style! Whether you’re a pair of introverts, extroverts or a bit of both like me (an ambivert!) you do YOU though on your wedding day.
