Rolls, baby toes, smiles that make you crinkle your nose up. Sitter sessions are just heart melting and this lady was exceptionally cute! She did give the camera some serious stink eye too though!

How is everyone? I’ve been too quiet on here but it’s just because I feel like I’m in a whirlwind that’s taking off! I’m trying to remind myself that it won’t last forever and trying to be as efficient as possible but if you notice that I’m slower on edits and admin than I have been previously it’s because I’m swamped. I feel really ashamed and unprofessional to admit that but I’d rather be brutally honest with you than worry too much about poker faced professionalism. The truth is that I’m trying to fit the best part of two wedding seasons into one, and like all other wedding suppliers that doesn’t come without personal sacrifices! Thank you so much to you all for your patience and love, I really do appreciate it. I’m looking forward to each and every wedding and photoshoot I have booked in and will do my very best to keep well and safe for you all.

I have no slots now until October so if you fancy some autumn colour for your family portrait now is the time to secure it, if you’d like to book in for a sitter session so that Christmas presents are sorted then Oct/nov is a great time to do so!

1. My quiet behaviour on Instagram isn’t because I haven’t got anything to share with you! I have soo much to share with you but so little time to sit down and even just write a caption. So I’ll keep this brief!
2. Don’t also be fooled that you have to do anything you don’t want to for YOUR wedding. You don’t have to pose for loads of photos, you don’t have to follow traditions, you don’t have to invite people that you never see - you don’t even have to invite anyone if you don’t want to, you just do your thing thing at your wedding ok?

The sun shone soo brightly on these too! It was roasting hot, but that wasn’t the only reason I was sweating! This chap here is only my music teacher from high school!!! Seriously, WHAT AN HONOUR. (And also I had to nail this gig right?!)
Not only is Richard a fabulous teacher but also such a good friend and this wonderful pair deserve every happiness!
What a day of sunshine, overdue hugs, glamour, zoom call waves and happy tears at personal vows and poems.
Pinching myself at times that this is my job!

Posting to remind myself that this little chap on the right has many redeeming qualities.

He’s pushing every button lately and I’ll be honest that I’m not proud of my parenting over the last few days. I’ve raised my voice far too often. I’ve threatened and I’ve confiscated and I feel there will be more battles ahead. Ted you’re such a loving four year old but I fear you’ve got a steep learning curve ahead of you if Mummy is going to make you into a decent human being. It’s so hard that I can’t always be your best friend and that loving you means being cross with you and upsetting you.
Hoping to keep my cool a little over the next few days and that this phase will soon pass, as these stages always do. (Only to be replaced with a new worry or challenge!)
It’s so important to acknowledge parenting isn’t a doddle, it’s a minefield, it’s constant doubt, it’s guilt and feeling ashamed, it’s feeling as though your best isn’t good enough at times. I’ve reminded him that I love him, no matter how cross I am with him and I’ve reminded myself that tomorrow is a fresh day.
Soo…where’s the wine when I needed some?!

This happens a lot more than you think! Swipe to see this little beauties big sister asleep at the photoshoot too! It is hard work having your photo taken when you’re a toddler or a baby after all! It has been known for Dads to join in on the nap too! 🥱😁
I’m going to treat myself tonight to a decent bedtime after a few nights of cramming in work and chores I’m feeling it today. We’ve been lucky to spend the day with friends with copious coffee and I’ve just about managed to speak cohesively through the sleep deprivation. The sunshine’s appearance has me jumping for joy though, as I have a few outdoor plans over the next few days and a wedding! Who’s got a beach trip planned?! Or what else are you all up to?

Back to talking about pouring, of the rainy variety this time, I am now officially fed up of rescheduling for this pesky unpredictable weather! Can it give us photographers a break please?! We need to fit all the family and engagement shoots in that have been postponed! I’m not taking any new weekend bookings now until September (end) so if you’re after a summer or autumn shoot, a studio session for sitters or a newborn/maternity session then now is the time to book in!

You think people have half a face and yet you still smile at their eyes, you’re bemused by the sight of a rare spotted baby, you think an exciting outing is to the doctors, you’ve not met half of your family and yet you’ve been here for half a year.
Just like your brothers you’ve soon chunked out, most things can be solved with magic boobs and you’re already wearing 9-12 month clothes (just a week longer maybe!). You love and giggle the most of Austin’s silly dances and noises, you wolf your food, you follow the cat with your eyes and you roll over constantly (you just haven’t figured out how to roll back…).

This is the first preview of two, as whilst I was busy here the lovely Jo from @summerlovephoto_uk was over at Huntingdon capturing another delayed but beautiful wedding and I can’t wait to get my hands on your files when I make a special trip to meet Jo and get them tomorrow.

The tears hit me so hard yesterday, the joy on people’s faces, the emotional speeches, the pride on parents faces, it was all such a relief to see it again. I’m not even cross at the rain as the sun came out eventually for a beautiful bit of evening light!!

I’ve seen loads of dog photographers but if anyone out there does cat photoshoots then I want to know the low down on that section of the industry 🙏🏻😍
This is my fur baby. I did have two until just before Christmas (a rescue kitten who sadly got hit by a car we think) but this lady has been with us 6 years now and she deserves a current place on my grid.
She’s pedigree, she’s got the attitude to match her dna and is enough of a sasspants to be named Duchess (Aristocats was a favourite film of mine growing up!).
Sooo…does anyone want to bring their cat to a family session?! 🤷🏼‍♀️😂

It’s a moment away from your guests to take a breath, chat to each other while I’m out of earshot (that’s not actually very far as my hearing is terrible 😂) I get you looking at the camera as little as possible, you’ll be pleased to know, and we only need around twenty mins to capture some wall worthy artwork.

I just love the simplicity of the white backdrop for your timeless images. Pair that with white, neutrals or pastels for an almost ethereal look to your family memories.
Back to the not so ethereal. My day has been a touch chaotic, a barbers trip with three boys was possibly never going to feature in my favourite days list! It needed doing to rescue my eldest from any further Mummy haircuts. I am however reliably informed from the barber that I did a better job than some barbers soo if you ever get tired of me taking your photos it’s ok I’ve got my next career lined up 🤷🏼‍♀️ three boys to practice on too 👍🏻🤔
I must say the boys were impeccable IN the barbers (apart from Ralph screaming at the hairdryer noise), it was just afterwards when popcorn all over the car, a screaming Ted, and a poosplosion occurred that it all went horribly wrong!

It was quickly becoming a bit scary in my diary. I can’t work every single day that my husband is off work and although I reserve the right to moan about my children, I do want to see them at some point at the weekends!

Newborn sessions in particular must be booked far in advance (with a few exceptional moments I may be able to squeeze you in). I only book a limited amount in each month to make sure that when your little bundle arrives I have some flexibility to fit you in within two weeks of them arriving. The time and date therefore isn’t set until you have delivered as babies can arrive on their own terms!
